Safaricom has introduced new internet plans aimed at enhancing productivity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya.
These packages, offering faster internet speeds, will help businesses save costs and operate more efficiently.
The company’s CEO Peter Ndegwa shared the news at a special event in Kisumu, explaining that the upgraded 5G plans would provide businesses with internet speeds up to five times faster than previous options.
“The revamped 5G package for businesses will cut the budget for most SMEs, ensuring they get access to affordable, and high-speed internet that empowers them for productivity, improved customer relations, and operations efficiency,” Ndegwa said.
Safaricom’s new plans cater specifically to SMEs, with speeds ranging from 50Mbps to 250Mbps.
The changes are designed to make high-speed internet more accessible, allowing businesses to perform better while reducing costs.
Updated 5G Packages and Pricing
The new plans offer three different speed levels: 50Mbps, 100Mbps, and 250Mbps.
The price range for the new plans starts from KSh 4,000 for the 50Mbps option and goes up to KSh 10,000 for the 250Mbps plan, all available on a 30-day subscription.
Business owners can easily subscribe to the new plans by dialling *400# on their phones. For those who sign up before the end of December, a 25% discount will be available.
The changes are set to benefit the more than 7.4 million SMEs across Kenya.
According to KIPRA, SMEs employ about 14.9 million people and contribute 30% to Kenya’s GDP.
By making faster internet more affordable, Safaricom aims to enhance the operational capacity of this crucial sector.
The company’s 24th-anniversary celebrations also coincide with this new offering, reinforcing Safaricom’s commitment to supporting local businesses through innovation.
